Why I built this.

I'm a mediocre trader who genuinely loves charting. I look at charts daily because it's fun, because trading is fun, because the market fascinates me. I'm also a pastor — and yes, the pastor-trader thing sounds strange. But trading and money reveal the heart, and the heart of people is what I think about.

In March of 2017, I bought Bitcoin at $1,200 and Ethereum at $20. It was the first time I'd ever invested in anything, and I genuinely believed things just always went up like that. Laughable, looking back. Pastoring is my full-time work; I run a marketing business called P27 Design and Marketing on the side. Over the next four years I put every dime I could into crypto from the profits of my marketing business. Then I made every mistake a trader can make.

December 2017, I bought Litecoin at $320 thinking it would keep going up. That was the top — it's never seen that level since.

Then 2023 happened. A mentor I trusted talked me into a Bitcoin mining investment that turned out to be a scam — gone. Around the same time I lost a wallet because I copied my private keys in the wrong place. And I'd bought into PulseChain on a recommendation; I'm still holding the bag. Three losses back to back that were devastating. I'm lucky I still have anything left.

A decade of getting it right at times but wrong mostly taught me one thing — and it has nothing to do with charts.

Trading reveals your heart. Your good and your bad. It's the rare adult activity where no one is looking over your shoulder.

No boss catches your revenge trade at 2am. No spouse catches you moving a stop after entry. No calendar catches you sizing up after a loss. The only witness is you. That solitude is exactly why it's so revealing — and so dangerous.

The Bible doesn't say money is the root of all evil. It says the love of money is. You can be ruined by a market. But you ruin yourself by greed.

I love this. It started as a hobby — and that hobby has turned into a desire to help traders like you become the best you can be. Trade Journal AI is how I stay grounded, and I have no doubt it will help you too. I'm committed to continually growing Trade Journal AI and making it the best it can be for traders like you and me.

What it actually does.

That's why I built it. Not to make you rich — to be the shoulder-watcher trading doesn't have. It flags you when you've revenge traded. It warns you when you've sized too big and broken your own percentages. It reminds you when you've gone quiet from journaling for a few days. It calls you out when you don't follow your own plan. If you need help being honest with yourself — most of us do — that's what this is.

Without Trade Journal, I'm a very bad trader. With it, I'm mediocre and profitable. That's enough — and I believe the same discipline that lifted me from bad to mediocre lifts good traders to great, and great traders to genuinely profitable.

Discipline is profit, given a long enough timeline. The journal makes the discipline possible.

Two questions before you sign up:

  1. Can you be disciplined?
  2. Can you put rules in place and obey them when nobody's watching?

If you answered confidently yes, you don't need this. If you're not sure — same as most of us — that's why I built it. But no matter where you're at in your trading journey, I genuinely believe this can help every trader.
